This very special project teams the Mobile Area Resource Centre (MARC) van with our very own Big Nancy!
The MARC van services 8 small and disadvantaged schools through our shire, and for the next four weeks will be introducing around 200 students to the woolly wonder that is Big Nancy – our giant knitting nancy.
Students are also making their very own ‘touch and feel’ board books to share with local kindergarten children – all with the starting point ‘That’s not my sheep. It’s wool is too….’
- We were as happy with the prototype as Jim was! Jim, who is with the Hamilton Woodturners Assoc, has taken on the challenge of designing our large, portable knitting nancy for the MARC Van.
- A close up of Jim’s amazing joins!!! Can’t wait to see the next update.
- The wool (wool acrylic blends) heading out on the MARC Van in Term 2.
- Meet Jumbo and Neptune, the wool (blend) chosen for this project.
